This section enables you
to manage the backup (ZIP) files created when you use the 'backup to zip file'
deletion method (under "Files/"Options"/"General").
This method of
backup provides a safety measure of sorts, enabling you to restore a file/group
of files should you need to. When you are satisfied you no longer need the files
which have been backed up, you can delete the old backup files. It is up to you
to maintain the backup files, remember that each time you perform a clean, using
the 'backup to zip file' option, a backup file will be created.
Ensure
the media on which you are backing up to has enough free space available for the
backup file created. It is best to stick to one backup folder (the default is
\BACKUP in the folder where you installed Clean Disk 2003). The backup folder
specified (under "Files"/Options"/"General"/"Deletion method") will not be
searched by the program when a clean is performed.
Backup folder
Specify the folder which contains your backup files.
Overwrite
method
This allows you to specify some control over files when they are
extracted from a backup (restored). The options are:
Always: The file
will be overwritten.
If newer: The file will only overwrite the existing
one if the archived file is newer than the existing one.
Never: The file
will not be extracted if it would overwrite a file.
Prompt: Allows you
to decide whether to overwrite the file.
Restore
Pressing
this button will restore the currently selected backup file. All archived files
will be placed back in their original location. If the original location no
longer exists it will be created.
Delete
Using this button
will delete the highlighted backup file.
View
This button
will allow you to view the contents of the currently selected file. This way,
you can select specific files to extract.
The details of each file
stored in the archive will be displayed (size, compression size, date/time, path
etc).
